Frequently Asked Questions
The EcoRich in-vessel composting plant provides towns with a local low cost composting plant.
While this will vary from customer to customer due to a wide range of materials being loaded into our machined, the typical output, from food material, tends to be high in carbon, low in nitrogen, and can be a bit salty. Our testing labs have recommended a mixture of 1 part of the finished material to 4 parts if used for plantings.
There are many ways to spread compost, the best method will largely depend on what stage the planting process is already in. If the system is not yet planted you can mix it directly into the soil prior to planting – 1 part to 4 parts. If the system is already planted but generally permeable you can spread by hand. If the system is largely impermeable due to weed suppression fabric or other barriers you can alternatively mix it into compost tea and irrigate with it.
Sure, the finished product is yours to do what you would like with! But we recommend checking with local authorities in your state to ensure that you do not contravene local waste regulations.
